Historic Inn, Hotel, Annapolis, LodgingThe 12th Annual Boatyard Beach Bash will be hosted by the Annapolis Maritime Museum (AMM) on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at their Eastport waterfront location. The Founding Sponsor, Boatyard Bar & Grill, and Title Sponsor, Annapolis Subaru, have gathered an impressive musical lineup of great artists, and many believe it is the best to date.

The Boatyard Beach Bash (BBB) nets more than $50,000 annually for the AMM. The museum’s mission is to educate children and adults on the city and area’s rich maritime heritage and Chesapeake Bay’s ecology. AMM’s Education Center provides more than 15,000 hours of interactive educational programs.

History

Boatyard owner and BBB founder Dick Franyo is on the Board of the Annapolis Maritime Museum. A Parrothead (Jimmy Buffet fan), Dick was inspired by the performer’s marketing model and created a lifestyle, entertainment, and escapism venue at the Boatyard along those themes. He later envisioned a fun fundraiser with a Jimmy Buffett & Parrothead theme, which led to founding the Boatyard Beach Bash. The event outgrew the Boatyard parking lot after 3 years, and it made its new home at the Annapolis Maritime Museum’s newly renovated Eastport waterfront facility.  Franyo’s vision of the Bash included building the stage’s rear area over the waters of Chesapeake Bay.

Music

The Coral Reefers, Peter Mayer, Brendan Mayer and Doyle Grisham, along with world-renowned artists, John Frinzi, Scott Kirby, Aaron Scherz, James White, and JD Spradlin from Radio Margaritaville are scheduled to play. This year’s BBB offers the once in a lifetime chance to be entertained by these superb musicians at the friendly scenic Chesapeake Bay shorefront location of the Annapolis Maritime Museum.
