Location and Region

Docked in Annapolis, Maryland, the Becky D II is located in one of the major fishing ports near both the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore areas. Captain Ed is based just about 10 minutes from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge off Route 50 on the western shore. He is near sport fishing fans located in Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Becky D II is situated close to the richest waters of the Chesapeake Bay, so Captain Ed can bring you to the outstanding fishing grounds after a short cruise.

The Fishing

The Chesapeake Bay’s summer season from June to August means fun fishing with light tackle chumming and live lining for Striped Bass, which are known for their fighting ability. If you like bottom fishing, Croak, Perch, and Spot are waiting for you to lower your bait. Other fish swimming the waters are Rockfish, White Perch, Bluefish, Spanish Mackerel, Flounder, and Sea Trout.

September and October will bring Bluefish as they prepare to migrate. Following them in November are Rockfish breaking the waters as they feed to fatten for winter. This period is the ideal time to use light tackle jigging to catch them. Late November will mean the return of trophy Stripers to the Chesapeake Bay.
