The biggest sporting event of Annapolis, the 9th Annual Military Bowl, will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. The game promises to be a terrific matchup of great college teams from the American Athletic Conference (AAC) and the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).
The DC Bowl Committee organizes the Military Bowl, which serves as the region’s most prominent event benefiting several organizations that provide support to members of the Armed Forces and their families. The chief beneficiary is the USO (United Services Organization), a nonprofit that provides live entertainment, programs, and other services to American service members and their families both at home and abroad. Ever since the founding in 2008, the Military Bowl has generated more than $600,000 in donations to the USO, including 25,000 free game tickets for U.S. troops and their families.
By gathering premier participants and organizing affiliated events, the Military Bowl strives to make a positive impact on the economy of the region, foster greater support for the USO, and acknowledge the contributions of U.S. military service members.
