America’s Sailing Capital means much more than boating on the Chesapeake. The increase of tourism has also driven the growth of Annapolis’ flourishing fine arts scene. The rising numbers of visitors who shop for arts and crafts have led to more gallery openings throughout the city. The change of seasons and two art events emblazon Maryland’s historical capital with vivid colors every autumn. Annapolis will host the Maryland Federation of Art’s Strokes of Genius exhibit and the Holiday Edition of the First Sunday Arts Festival in November 2017.
Strokes of Genius
Strokes of Genius will be held from Friday, October 27 to Saturday, November 25 at the Maryland Federation of Art’s Circle Gallery on 18 State Circle, Annapolis. This renowned national juried exhibition of paintings will have a reception introducing the selected artists on Saturday November 5 from 3 to 5 p.m. The following is from the MFA press release:
“Maryland Federation of Art (MFA) invites all artists residing in the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada and Mexico to enter its 7th annual all-painting competition.
