Visit Annapolis during the last weekend of May for the annual Annapolis Greek Festival, a joyous feast of dancing, music, food, and wine, scheduled from Thursday to Sunday, May 30 to June 2, 2019.
Annapolis’ Greek Orthodox Community has been happily sharing their old country’s traditions and culture with neighbors and visitors alike for years and this year is no exception!
Greek Food and Wine
As usual, the flavors of traditional Greek food like dolmades (stuffed grape leaves), gigandes (giant baked beans), and gyro (meat roasted on a vertical spit served as a sandwich) will transport you to the shores and hills of Greece.
Music and Dancing
The traditional bouzouki, a stringed musical instrument invented in Greece, will accompany the traditional Greek dance performances by the community’s Children’s and Adult Dance Troupes.
Charity and Event Details
The Annapolis Greek Festival raises funds from selling raffle tickets that will benefit the ministries of Ss. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church and Hope Project NY.
Proceeds from sales helps fund the city’s Lighthouse Shelter, which provides weekly meals and care packages to the homeless.
Admission is free, and the event is organized by volunteers.
