Historic Inn, LodgingFounded in 1997, Eastport a Rockin’ will be entertaining Annapolis for the 21st year on Saturday, June 17, 2017. 35 bands will play on 4 stages at the Annapolis Maritime Museum. Concert proceeds will benefit the museum and city charities such as the Eastport Elementary School, Eastport Volunteer Fire Department, and the Annapolis Musicians Fund for Musicians. Eastport is a tightly-knit Annapolis neighborhood that has a character of its own, and the success of this event reflects their love of life.

Eastport a Rockin’ was originally created by founder James Borchelt to introduce local musicians to a wider audience by giving them a opportunity to showcase their talent. For 20 years, the concert has attracted crowds from Annapolis neighborhoods and the surrounding area. Over two decades, Eastport a Rockin’ established its reputation as the region’s summer music festival and has steadily grown. Due to its popularity, the event expanded last year by adding a fourth stage at the Horn Point Marina. A larger venue will let more than 35 bands strut their stuff, ensuring the local music scene remains vibrant and viable.

The Bands

Emerging talent will team with established bands to play a broad range of music styles. In two decades, Eastport a Rockin’ has given the careers of popular bands like Good Charlotte and Jimmie’s Chicken Shack a roaring start. Up and coming musicians playing at the festival may just be the next stars lighting the sky. Eastport a Rockin’ will delight fans with an eclectic slate that will include rock n’ roll, blues, jazz, funk, bluegrass, roots, and folk.
