Join the Maryland Day Celebration 2019 at the William Paca House and Garden in historic and beautiful Annapolis. Historic Annapolis (HA) will host a Maryland Day Celebration over two days, Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31, 2019.

Named a National Historic Landmark in 1971 and subsequently restored by HA, the William Paca House is an 18th-century Georgian mansion located in the historic district of Annapolis. The picturesque garden lies on two acres, and it was restored to its original grandeur by employing archaeology and the backdrop of a 1772 painting by Charles Wilson Peale.

HA’s motto vows to “Preserve. Protect. Connect.” Founded in 1952, the non-profit organization’s mission is the preservation and protection of Annapolis’ history. The non-profit organization also organizes events and provides tours, engaging visitors and locals alike with the area’s rich heritage.

HA Maryland Day Celebration

Hosted at the William Paca House over a weekend, HA’s Maryland Day Celebration begins on Saturday with visitors discovering a mansion filled with excitement and conversation as the Paca’s and their friends, who will be portrayed by the Annapolis Living Historians ensemble, greet them inside. Visitors will be entertained by Maryland-themed crafts and games for people of all ages.

Afterwards, guests can visit the nearby Hogshead (also known as Artisan’s House), which is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, where they can observe local craftspeople of the colonial era displaying their skills at carpentry, baking, spinning, printing.
