Annapolis, Historic Inn, LodgingOn Saturday, May 6, 2017, the Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds in Crownsville, Maryland will host the Naptown barBAYq Contest and Music Festival. It is a fun event near historic Annapolis that welcomes thousands from the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond and entertains them with tasty food, enjoyable music, and a competition sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS).

Organized by ABC Events, the Naptown barBAYq Contest and Music Festival is family-friendly. Children 12 and under can play for free at the Kid Korral. Adults can shop for locally made arts and crafts. Amateur chefs can attend cooking demonstrations and learn the secrets of making great BBQ.

Last year, ABC Events transferred KCBS Competitors into the festival area and created the barBAYq Village. The move gave attendees the wonderful opportunity of strolling through and meeting all of the competitors. They probably did not give away their secret recipes, but probably gave away a terrific BBQ tip or two.

Parole Rotary Club

Proceeds from the Naptown barBayq help support several causes of the Rotary Club of Parole, Maryland. Parole Rotary greatly believes in supporting education. They provide books to third graders, scholarships for deserving students at Anne Arundel Community College, and funds for high school exchange programs that send local teens overseas to study and hosts foreign students in Maryland. Other charitable work involves the environmental Treemendous Maryland, Anne Arundel County’s Homeless Resource Day Fair, free Thanksgiving dinners for the needy, and the Johns Hopkins’ Kimmel Cancer Center’s Pediatric Oncology Program.
