Visit Annapolis and kick off the first holiday weekend of December by having lots of fun and giving in to your sweet tooth at the Chocolate Binge Festival. On Sunday, December 4, 2016, the festive event will return for its second year, featuring chocolate, family entertainment, holiday shopping, and lighting of the expanded West Street Light Canopy. Local chocolate merchants will be at West Street ready to enable chocoholics so they can cope with the stresses of the holiday season.
Family Fun & Charity
The Annapolis Arts District and Inner West Street have banded together to organize a distinctively sweet street festival in downtown Annapolis to celebrate the holidays.
Admission is only $5, which is the suggested donation for adults. Kids can attend free with parents. All who make a donation will receive a complimentary hot chocolate.
Benefiting the Annapolis Arts District and We Care and Friends, the event will be filled with fun for all ages. The kids will love taking moon bounces in a gigantic gingerbread house. All the family will be able to roast marshmallows and create s’mores at a fire pit on West Street as Sparky of the Annapolis Fire Department and McGruff, The Crime Fighting Dog, look on. You can smile and take a photo with Lady Godiva, the woman representing fine chocolate worldwide. A menagerie of balloon animals will also be made for children.
To top it all off, Santa Claus will visit to gather donations of toys and clothing for the We Care and Friends Holiday Party, benefiting those who are homeless and children in need from the local area.
Attendees can accomplish all their holiday shopping at the festival’s marketplace. Many of the region’s craftspeople will display a great variety of their handiwork, such as pottery, jewelry, carved wood, candles, glass blowing and much more. There will also be shops and galleries located in the Annapolis Arts District and around the city where you can continue looking for gifts.
