Annapolis MDHosted by Annapolis Maritime Museum (AMM), the Tides & Tunes concert series showcases live music every Thursday night at 7 p.m. Although the series began in mid-June, the annual event gets into full swing during the warm summer nights. Bands play classic rock, soul, folk, Celtic, psychedelic funk, jazz, blues, Hawaiian swing, country, Island music, swing, boogie-woogie, and there will be dancing on the beach.

Bringing the Community Together

Tides & Tunes was organized by the AMM as an effort to foster the feelings of community in Annapolis and raise the awareness among local residents regarding the activities and programs sponsored by the museum. However, both locals and visitors are welcome to spend a warm evening under the stars. All will be able to enjoy the music while gazing at a gorgeous view of the bay.

AMM’s Educational Purpose

The Education Center of the Annapolis Maritime Museum provides teaching programs about the ecology of Chesapeake Bay to more than 6,000 students annually. The children are also taught lessons covering Annapolis’ wealth of maritime heritage and history.

Refreshments, Charity & Seating

Food, wine, mixed drinks, and beer may be purchased at the event. The funds raised from sales supports AMM’s environmental programs at its Education Center. Alcohol purchased outside the grounds or coolers are prohibited. For seating during the outdoor concerts, the museum recommends that guests bring lawn chairs or blankets. In case of bad weather, the performances will be held inside.

Admission to Tides &Tunes is free. However, a $10 donation per person will be appreciated by the Annapolis Maritime Museum to help fund its educational programs.
