Although Annapolis is nicknamed “America’s Sailing Capital”, Maryland’s maritime capital is not just about sailboats tacking on the Chesapeake Bay. As tourists flock to Annapolis in increasing numbers, the city’s fine arts scene has flourished. Their purchases of arts and crafts have resulted in more gallery openings.
Every autumn also brings two important artistic happenings to Annapolis, providing exciting forums for creativity. Thus, fall’s spectacular change of seasons on the scenic Chesapeake will not be the only kaleidoscope for eyes to see. Annapolis will be hosting the Strokes of Genius exhibition held by the Maryland Federation of Art (MFA) and the Holiday Edition of the First Sunday Arts Festival during November 2018.
Strokes of Genius
Strokes of Genius will be held from Friday, November 2 to Monday, November 26 at the Maryland Federation of Art’s Circle Gallery on 18 State Circle, Annapolis. Hours will be 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily, and there is no charge for admission.
A renowned national juried exhibition of paintings, Strokes of Genius invites all artists living in the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada and Mexico to apply to exhibit at the 8th annual all-painting competition.
Strokes of Genius will hold a reception that will introduce the artists selected by the MFA on Sunday, November 11 from 3 to 5 p.m.
